Saddleworth-based agency, Pelican Communications, has hired two former journalists.
Jessica Beckett joins the company from Trinity Mirror, having worked for titles including the Manchester Evening News for more than seven years.
She will work across a number of key food, foodservice and logistics accounts, managing a small team of consultants.
Joe Robinson joins from Blackpool Council, where he was a communications officer, and has also previously worked as a senior reporter at the Blackpool Gazette.
He will work across a number of key food, packaging and environmental sector accounts.
Managing director, Michael Bennett, said: “Both Jess and Joe are local to the business and a prime example of what young people from Oldham and the surrounding area can achieve.
“They both understand our key food, foodservice, packaging, environment and outdoor markets and have vast experience in journalism and communications.
“In their short time with us so far they have hit the ground running and are already making good progress and serving our clients with distinction.”
Pelican specialises in the food, foodservice, packaging, environment and outdoor sectors. Current clients include the likes of Tate & Lyle, ViewRanger, FCC Environment and the British Metals Recycling Association.
