Leeds-based digital transformation agency Parallax has made a £180,000 investment in start-up Vivify Venues ahead of its launch in October.
Manchester-headquartered Vivify was established in August to “breathe life into under-utilised venues” and “ensure nobody has far to travel to take part in social or physical activities in their community.”
Vivify has a digital-first strategy and claims to be the first business to “harness the power of technology to modernise the booking of local venues.”
Co-founder and Marketing Director Alaine Swis said: “It is such a shame that so many incredible facilities are currently unable to open for community use. Thanks to the investment from Parallax, our tech platform will match community organisations with their perfect space whilst generating much needed revenue for under-utilised venues such as schools.
“Social interaction and physical activity are vitally important as lockdown measures are eased and Vivify provides endless opportunities across the UK.”
Dario Grandich, Director of Parallax, added: “Vivify’s model sits perfectly with our ethos of using digital solutions to transform an industry and create a highly scalable business.
“We have worked with one of the co-founders for nearly 10 years and felt this was the perfect opportunity to become a partner who can continually develop the platform to drive growth and revolutionise a sector.”
Vivify employs nine staff and is on a “significant recruitment drive” in the build-up to the launch of its platform in October.
