Opencast lands £10m new Department for Education contracts

Sam Manson

North East technology consultancy Opencast has extended its partnership with the government’s Department for Education (DfE) with two new contracts worth a combined £10m+.

New work to support DfE’s work on data and solutions architecture will see Opencast consultants support its data directorate until 2025 through the new contracts.

Across the contracts, Opencast will help DfE to collect richer data on a near real-time basis, reduce time spent in data validation and modernise its architecture.

The two new areas of work are an £8.5m contract to supply architects across DfE’s Solutions Architecture practice and a one-year, £2.1m agreement to provide architecture and data modelling services for the DfE’s Learner Data Services programme.

Opencast client experience director Sam Manson said: “We are delighted to be expanding our existing relationship with DfE, enhancing capabilities in both the data and architecture spaces. These new contracts add to the wide range of our work across government, including at HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions and the Government Digital Service. We look forward to helping all of our UK government partners deliver user-centred and sustainable digital services that make a real difference to society.”

Opencast specialises in designing, building and running user-centred digital and technology solutions. Its work for UK government develops services that support critical national infrastructure and help millions of citizens through tax, benefit and support services.
