One Agency unveils The Ordinary AR Manchester mural

In partnership with One Agency, The Ordinary has unveiled its brand new skin and bodycare products using augmented reality (AR), a new venture for both the agency and their partner skincare visionaries.

Taking inspiration from a project One Agency had previously done for Sol De Janeiro, The Ordinary commissioned a custom mural to introduce the public to its three brand new skincare and bodycare products: Natural Moisturising Factors + Inulin Body Lotion, Salicylic Acid 0.5% Body Serum, and Niacinamide 5% Face and Body Emulsion.

One Agency knew the concept needed to go beyond a mural; it had to be innovative, interactive, and informative. The team settled on an AR style campaign to seamlessly blend the digital and real world to achieve their goals.

The final execution is a testament to the cutting-edge work of One Agency’s motion design and web development teams. The time and care taken to produce this activation, and support The Ordinary on their mission, is evidenced in the perfect 3D product models, the smooth user experience, and ecstatic client feedback.

How does it work? You simply scan the QR code on the mural and the products magically come to life in 3D form right before your eyes. From here, you can play around with the products with full 360 rotation. When tapped, the product card spins around to reveal key information such as ingredients, usage directions, and product efficacy. Better yet, users can click ‘free product’ to be in with a daily chance of winning one of The Ordinary’s best sellers.

The AR mural can be found on the side of Hare & Hounds, 46 Shudehill, Manchester M4 4AA, and will be in place until September 5.
