Plans to revamp the Old Granada Studios have been given the go-ahead by Manchester City Council.
Allied London was given the green light for its redevelopment of the site back in 2015 and last week the council approved a revised application that will see the original television studios retained and refurbished.
Studios 02, 06, 08 and 12 will become a suite of multi-functional filming, production and studio facilities.
The existing Granada House building will be converted into a larger hotel with 210 beds and a roof top bar. An eight-storey office will also become a new 10-storey mixed-use building, to replace the existing four-storey Annexe building.
Other changes include a 4,000 sq ft glazed rooftop extension to the Granada TV building.
All Studios, Allied London’s studios business, will operate the space and has already enticed hit TV shows including Peaky Blinders, Safe, Wanderlust and Snatch to film at the studios.
