Northern Marketing Festival

Leaders from major brands including Newcastle United, Footasylum, FIFA, Virgin, Cloud Nine will be speaking at Prolific North’s upcoming Northern Marketing Festival.

Hosted across 24 to 27 June, Northern Marketing Festival has been created to help showcase talent and innovation across the North with a jam-packed lineup of brand experts who’ll be sharing their top marketing insights and tips.

The festival will kick off in Newcastle on 24 June, heading across the Pennines to Leeds on 25 June, then back to Manchester on 26 June.

Want to know more about how Newcastle United went from underdogs to champions? Find out during a keynote session with Dan Ginger, director of brand, marketing & digital media at Newcastle United Football Club, over at the Newcastle event on 24 June at The Catalyst.

With a new level of investment and ambition, the club is determined to grow and reach its true potential to become a leading global brand. Ginger will be sharing the work going on behind the scenes to achieve this lofty ambition, how he’s tackling this “can’t afford to get it wrong” challenge and how the club is putting community and the city of Newcastle at the heart of its transformation.

Over in Leeds on 25 June at VUE Cinema, there’s plenty to look forward to. Laura Kenny, VP of marketing at BOXT, will be sharing how BOXT raised the temperature and ignited plans to become the go-to platform for the heating industry.

Join a fireside chat with Dom Dwight, strategy and innovation director at Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate. He has seen lots of change in his 16 years at Taylors of Harrogate, particularly during his eight years as marketing director where he helped Yorkshire Tea to become the UK’s number one brew through consistently creative comms. Now focusing on strategy and innovation, Dwight is exploring new ideas that could shape the future for one of Yorkshire’s most successful independent businesses.

Caroline Huntley, partner marketing manager at Virgin, will also be appearing as a speaker. Huntley leads partnership marketing efforts for UK and US partners at Virgin Red and is an established marketer with over 10 years of brand marketing experience in loyalty and financial services. Currently based in Newcastle, she has recently co-founded a community network for marketing professionals based in the North.

You’ll also be able to hear from Naomi Horan, social media and influencer manager at award-winning hair care brand Cloud Nine.

Over in Manchester on 26 June at Manchester Hall, there will be two stages of insightful content with leading brand and agency side speakers.

Janine Ross, marketing and communications director at National Football Museum will be joining Nicola Docking, managing director at Poke Marketing, for a session on how Poke and the National Football Museum explored experimentation, play and creativity to put football on the cultural map and appeal to a much wider audience than just football fans through a rebrand.

Join us for a highly anticipated fireside chat with Steve Feekins, social media and content at FIFA, who will share more about his journey at FIFA over the past decade and how he approaches content across the 200m+ following of the FIFA World Cup and Women’s World Cup across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X.

And finally, expect to hear from Howard Tattersall, chief marketing officer at Footasylum, who is responsible for developing and implementing the brand marketing strategy of Footasylum. He started on the Footasylum shop floor in 2009 and has progressed through the business, now with a remit covering brand, social, retail and creative marketing as well as content production.

Please note, tickets to each event are ticketed separately. Make sure you join us across 24 – 27 June for what’s set to be an unmissable week of marketing insights and opportunities to connect in the North and check out the full agenda here.
