Sports nutrition brand Warrior has signed a new sponsorship deal with Polaris Pro Grappling.
The agreement will see Warrior named as the exclusive sports nutrition partner for Polaris – billed as “the world’s most exciting and longest standing professional grappling organisation,” and “the world’s most exciting jiujitsu event” – for the next 2 years.
Warrior branding will feature at Polaris events, during broadcasts, on athletes’ kit and through social media promotions, as well as in collaborations with world class fighters.
This is the first time Warrior, owned by Manchester’s KBF Enterprises, has sponsored an event of this kind and the partnership will highlight its range of award-winning sports nutrition products to grappling fans.
The first event under the tie-in, Polaris 25, is being held at Ebbw Vale Sports Centre in Wales on September 30 and will feature an all-star lineup of some of the greatest grapplers in the world including Giancarlo Bodoni and Owen Livesey.
Contenders will be in with a chance of winning ‘Warrior of the Night’ and £1,000, courtesy of Warrior as part of the sponsorship package.
Kieran Fisher, founder of KBF Enterprises and Warrior comments: “We are incredibly proud to be partnering with Polaris. As someone who has grappled for many years, it’s exciting to see the popularity of the sport growing so rapidly and becoming embedded into the mainstream.
“Our research also shows that many grapplers are big fans of Warrior’s portfolio of sports nutrition products already to fuel themselves properly before a big fight. So, it felt like the right brand fit and ideal time to partner with one of the leading pro grappling events in the world. I am confident [this] will be the start of a fantastic partnership together.”
Roy Billington, head of athlete relations at Polaris added: “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Warrior on this groundbreaking deal. As the number one name in grappling, we only work with the best and in Warrior we have found a partner who match us in ambition and provides a world-class product.”
