Galloways in Poynton says it will be using antimicrobial print and protected paper products in order to help prevent the spread of infections.
The family firm celebrates 150 years in business this year and will be working with Addmaster UK on ramping up the application of its Biomaster technology.
This, it says, provides effective, lasting antimicrobial protection, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and preventing bacterial build-up in storage.
“Paper is inherently difficult to clean, which makes it a perfect breeding ground for pathogens and a potential source of cross-contamination. Anything from patient files and folders to food packaging and wallcoverings are possible transmission points for harmful microbes,” explained Matt Galloway.
“In these challenging times, we are all looking to do everything we can reduce the spread of infection to protect ourselves and others and broadening its availability to all sectors. We have had a number of enquiries already, including from a company looking at protecting workstations with protective paper coverings so that staff can hot desk safely.”
When bacteria come into contact with the protected paper surface, its silver-ion tech prevents it growing, producing energy or replicating. This should stop the growth of bacteria for the lifetime of the product.
“All businesses work with printed products so if we can add another layer of protection to all the hygiene and safety measures coming from Government we will do so. It’s important to use all the technology available to make workplaces as safe as possible as businesses to return with confidence,” continued Galloway.
