Nike executive Charlie Brooks is set to be named the new director of communications at Manchester United, according to reports.
The Daily Mail reports today that Brooks, currently vice president of communications at the US sportswear brand, will join the Old Trafford club next month.
Former director of communications Phil Townsend stepped down in February after 14 years to join UEFA in a similar role.
BBC sports editor Dan Roan has also confirmed the appointment and said the club had been “in desperate need of someone like him for some time”.
