CDS has appointed Mark Gair as its new managing director.
Gair joins the Leeds-based firm from Vital Communications, the London agency, backed by Office Depot.
His arrival allows CDS chief executive, Fergus Bailie to focus on his new role as CEO of parent company, The Baird Group – which includes Newspress, Blackstaff Press and CDS Defence Support.
“Since I took over in 2011 we have grown considerably, both in terms of revenue and talent within the business. Our ambitions continue, building on our strong foundation. To enable us to take the next leap forward we have completed a substantial internal reorganisation. The last piece in the jigsaw was to bring in Mark, with a remit to focus 100% on the growth of our omnichannel communications business,” explained Bailie.
“We have also made targeted corporate and property acquisitions. The Group has expanded nationally and internationally. My role now is to focus on growth across the Group and to help the MDs meet their challenging growth objectives.”
The company has plans to double the size of the business by 2020, with a £50m turnover.
“I am delighted to have joined the team at CDS. I have been very surprised by the scale and capability of the services CDS provides across its current customer base which extends across print, marketing and digital channels,” added Gair.
“The complexity in the solutions provided within high profile brands and government bodies is a testament to the level of service and commitment from the entire team.”
