A new four-part drama series for ITV will begin filming in the Lake District this autumn.
Eleventh Hour Films has been commissioned for Safe House, a 4×60 atmospheric thriller written by Michael Crompton (Kidnap & Ransom, Silent Witness, Carrie’s War).
Based on a true story, it will tell the story of a married couple who turn their remote guest house into a safe house.
ITV’s director of drama Steve November and controller of drama Victoria Fea said: “We’re delighted to commission Safe House from Jill Green and Eleventh Hour Films. It’s a compelling four-part drama from Michael Crompton with great characters and genuine twists which keep you guessing right to the end.”
Eleventh Hour MD Jill Green added: “Safe House is a quality drama with intelligently crafted characters delivering a complex and engaging story that will keep the viewer gripped.”
Safe House has been developed by head of development Paula Cuddy (Strike Back, Wallander) and will be directed by award-winning director Marc Evans (Hinterland, Collision).
Eleventh Hour Films is currently in production on a ninth series of Foyle’s War for ITV.
