UK electricals retailer AO has announced that its new Director of Enterprise Platforms and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) will be Jasmin Allott (pictured).
This is a newly created role in which Allott will be working with the AO tech team, which totals 300, on digital transformation projects across the organisation. Part of this will see the introduction of a Global ERP solution across AO to ensure streamlining and efficiency.
Allott joins from Dentsu International, where she held the role of Director of Technology – Business Platforms, and has previously worked in senior roles at Nationwide, Visa and Schroders.
Bolton-based AO is planning to cement the global shift to online shopping experienced in 2020 and early 2020, and this new directorial appointment is part of those plans. It is strengthening its senior team and investing in new systems – and continues to recruit across AO – as it seeks to continue the heightened demand for buying electricals online.
In January, Prolific North reported that the retailer has enjoyed its best ever trading period in the final quarter of 2020, after having “seen 10 years of change in 10 months”. In 2020 alone, AO made 1,500 hires across the board.
Commenting on the appointment, Jasmin Allott said: “I couldn’t resist the opportunity to join a business at such a pivotal time in its journey. I’ve been impressed with AO’s journey to date, I am excited to help as we move forward into this next chapter.”
Director of Group IT at AO, Carl Phillips, said: “We are thrilled Jasmin has agreed to join the AO team and at such an exciting time for the business. Over the last 12 months, customers have experienced a better way to shop for electricals and with Jasmin’s wealth of experience, we look forward to continuing to drive innovation through our tech team.”
