Cloud-based payroll and accounting software firm, My Digital, has named a new CEO and Chair.
Dan Moss succeeds founder John Whelan as CEO of the Stockport-headquartered business while private equity veteran Ged Gould has been named as the new chair. Gould is co-founder of advisory investment firm, Dealspan.
The moves come following a Management Buy Out in May this year, which saw Maven Capital exit the company after investing £1.2m in 2019 to fund growth.
“I’m delighted that the management team will be able to take the company forward through its scale-up phase and execute its ambitious vision,” said Moss, who’s worked at the company, since 2016 and has been promoted from COO.
“The team we’ve built is brimming with talent and enthusiasm, especially following the MBO earlier this year.”
Founded in 2015, the company employs 62 staff, 42 of which are at its wholly-owned Indian subsidiary and its last accounts showed a turnover of £2.8m.
Former CEO, Whelan will be stepping down from his operational role to pursue other interests although he’ll remain on the board.
“John has a reputation for developing his teams and stepping aside once the mentoring and development process has completed,” continued Moss.
“He’s been a big support for me during my eight years at My Digital, which saw me start by designing and managing the development of the software to becoming the COO.”
