Steve King, who was the group head of marketing at musicMagpie for the last four years, has joined meal prep delivery service, FuelHub.
He now becomes head of growth at the Warrington-based nutrition brand.
“Steve is a fantastic addition to our team, bringing an abundance of experience to help take us into the next stages of our journey,” explained Michelle Laithwaite, co-founder and CEO at FuelHub.
“He will play a key role in our ambitious plans to expand our customer base and establish more partnerships with leading brands and organisations, while ensuring we maintain the same level of commitment to our existing customers who have helped us get to where we are today.”

King was at musicMagpie for more than a decade, with the last four years as its group head of marketing. During his time at the Stockport re-commerce group, he was involved in its SMARTDrop Kiosk which launched nationwide across over 300 Asda retail stores generating £15m in its first 18months.
At FuelHub, he’ll be responsible for making it the “go-to brand for high-performance nutrition and premium quality meals” as well as identifying new areas for growth and expansion.
This will also involve leading on technology upgrades, especially the introduction of a mobile app. He’ll also be looking at brand, sports and influencer partnership.
“FuelHub is a brand with incredible potential, led by a team that has built a fantastic foundation and I’m looking forward to helping to take it to the next level,” he said.
“Growth isn’t just about acquiring customers but about creating a brand and experience that people genuinely connect with and keep coming back to. This is an exciting time for the business, and I can’t wait to make an impact.”
FuelHub was founded in 2019 and works with teams including Chelsea FC, Fulham FC, Manchester United FC, Team GB and England Rugby Union.
It’s backed by Andy Bell, founder of AJ Bell.
[A previous version of this article said that King was marketing head at musicMagpie, as his title was group head of marketing, but we’ve been advised he was among a number of senior marketers reporting to a CMO, and was involved in the delivery of the SMARTDrop Kiosk.]
