Sky has confirmed that its 4-part documentary about Burnley FC will release as a boxset from August 10th.
Mission To Burnley will also air on Sky Documentaries as the programme looks at the rebirth of the Lancashire club under new American ownership and the leadership of Vincent Kompany.
As part of the marketing campaign around its launch, Sky commissioned artwork on the side of a house in Higgin Street opposite Turf Moor, featuring Kompany and new owner, Alan Pace.
The series is produced by Ad Hoc Films, the team behind QPR: The Four-Year Plan and The United Way. Filmmakers got unprecedented access to the boardroom, dressing room and inner workings of the club, as ALK Partners navigate modern football, inspired by their religious faith as members of the Church of the Latter-Day Saints.
It will begin with the club’s relegation from the Premier League in 2022 and how it has returned to top-flight football in “swashbuckling style.”
The Sky Original documentary has been commissioned for Sky Documentaries by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Jamie Morris, Director of Programmes and Jack Oliver, Head of Co-Productions, Sky Entertainment.
