Mighty Giant has completed the design and graphics package for the new BBC Three show Project Icon.
The show aims to find the next big music star and act as a platform for aspiring artists to showcase their talent and compete for the title of Project Icon. The show was filmed in and around Manchester towards the end of 2022 by MultiStory Media.
In addition to designing the logo and graphics, Mighty Giant was responsible for creating a full kit of graphics to run throughout the series, blending live-action footage and animation to capture the energy and excitement of the music industry.
The creative came from lead designer Jordan Armitage, who said: “Our goal was to create a logo that was both simple and bold. To achieve this, we opted for a typeface that also added flexibility when used across the entire graphics package. We used a fresh and striking colourscheme, that would complement the set design, while also standing out on its own.”
The team at Mighty Giant has a wealth of experience in designing for broadcast, as well as working in commercials and corporate animations.
Simone Haywood was the creative director for MultiStory. She said: “I am absolutely delighted with the graphic work produced for us on this series. The team were eternally patient with the evolving creative vision, took the brief and created something that feels fresh and contemporary. And most importantly, they always had the BBC Three audience at the heart of their creative thinking.”
Project Icon airs on Sunday nights on BBC Three, and is also available on the BBC iPlayer.
