Charlie Rowley, a former Special Advisor to Michael Gove, has joined Cavendish Consulting.
Rowley becomes Senior Strategic Advisor to the consultancy’s Advisory Board.
He worked with Gove between 2019 and 2022 across 3 government departments – DEFRA, Cabinet Office and DLUHC. Prior to that he was a communications adviser to Theresa May, while she was Prime Minister.
“Charlie is a key appointment to our Advisory Board and with his extensive experience in working within the political system at local and national level, he will be providing vital counsel that really makes a difference,” said Stephen Pomeroy, Founder and Chair of the Advisory Board.
“His input will be an unrivalled value-add to our clients, providing an additional layer of understanding of today’s politics to inform their strategies. His expertise will be well utilised across the Consultancy’s multi-disciplines including corporate affairs, PR, social media, internal communications, crisis and reputation management.”
The consultancy, which rebranded from BECG Group last month is based on Dalton Street in Manchester.
Rowley, who’s now a freelance consultant and commentator on news and current affairs programmes, joins an 8-strong Advisory Board, which provides help and expertise to the company’s clients and consultants.
“The work that Cavendish and its clients are doing is instrumental in improving our built environment whilst also helping to deliver on the Government’s agenda. I’m delighted to be joining the Advisory Board to guide and inform their communication and engagement strategies,” he stated.
“In the run up to the next General Election, it is even more important to remain resilient and informed on political processes and announcements to ensure an agile response and approach. Whether supporting on international, national or local community projects, I’m looking forward to working together to make a positive impact.”
