LeoVegas Group, the Swedish mobile gaming and sports betting company owned by MGM Resorts International, has announced the opening of a new office in the heart of Leeds, as it ramps up recruitment across key UK roles.
The group, which was acquired by Las Vegas-based MGM in 2022, will occupy over 5,000 sq ft across the ground and lower ground floors of Tailor’s Corner – a newly refurbished, Grade A office development at the junction of Wellington Street and Thirsk Row, close to Leeds Station. It comes as Leeds’ economy is expected to grow by 21% over the next decade as it underscores its growing reputation as a hub for digital, creative and tech focussed businesses.
The new space marks LeoVegas Group’s second UK base in the North, after it opened its Newcastle base in 2018. The new office will feature collaboration areas, meeting rooms, and breakout spaces tailored to support hybrid working and team connectivity, the company said.
Speaking about the expansion, Gethin Evans, Managing Director UK and Ireland at LeoVegas Group, said: “Leeds is a great city packed with energy and opportunities and we’re excited to move into our new office space shortly. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing cities, our new city-centre office puts us right in the mix, helping us build the strength of our hero brands in the UK, BetMGM and LeoVegas, while enjoying the benefits of access to a growing talent pool.”
The move forms part of LeoVegas Group’s UK growth strategy following the launch of its BetMGM brand in the UK, Netherlands and Swedish markets. Recruitment is already underway for a number of roles, including Senior UK Sports Director, Senior Finance Business Partner, and Legal Counsel, with more expected to follow.
