Meet the rest of the judges for the Prolific North Marketing Awards 2024

As the final deadline to enter the Prolific North Marketing Awards approaches, we can now reveal more industry experts set to join the judging panel this year.

You have until 22 August to get your entries in for the Marketing Awards, where we will be celebrating excellence, creativity and innovation across the marketing industry in the North of England and Scotland.

We recently revealed a number of industry leaders from the likes of Quorn Foods and Leeds Building Society who will take part in a fair and transparent two-step judging process for these awards, where they will come together to compile the shortlist and, ultimately, decide the winners. From brand-side marketers to experts with decades of experience, check out the rest of the judges for 2024 below.

Alex Hamilton, PR & comms consultant, Across the Board

Alex Hamilton has been working in the Northern marketing world for over 10 years within agencies and media analytics businesses in Manchester. Most recently, he was part of the senior management team at integrated agency McCann Leeds as head of PR & social, working across a number of well-known B2B and B2C brands. Hamilton now works with companies and agencies providing senior PR, communications, and business support.

Bonnie Turnbull, Director of communications & digital, Hallé Orchestra

Bonnie is currently director of communications & digital for the Hallé Orchestra. Her career began at The Bridgewater Hall – Manchester’s international concert venue – where she managed events and external partnerships for a range of high-profile clients. Following this, she led on marketing for the School of Arts & Media at University of Salford, before taking up the role of head of marketing at Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. She then became director of marketing & communications for HOME in Manchester, leading the marketing, communications and customer service strategy. 

Claire Hoang, Vice President, ITV Studios social media

Claire Hoang is a native Mancunian who is currently the VP for Social Media at ITV Studios. Her role is to provide operational and strategic support across all the labels and teams that come under the ITV Studios banner. She also supports new show launches for ITV Studios shows in the UK (and not always just across ITV).

She has over 15 years working with digital, social and video content as well as marketing. Her previous employers include BBC, Fremantle, Dentsu Aegis, Wavemaker and Thomas Cook Airlines.

Dr Catherine Kelly, Managing director, Jaywing

With over six years as managing director at Jaywing, a leading integrated marketing agency, Dr Catherine Kelly has been instrumental in driving client delivery and growth, shaping strategic initiatives, and fostering operational excellence. Prior to her role at Jaywing, Kelly held key positions at renowned organisations such as Asda and Diageo, where she led ground-breaking initiatives in data science, marketing effectiveness, and category development.

Nick Archer, Senior client lead, Channel 4

Nick Archer is senior client lead for Channel 4 Sales in the Nations and Regions, running the client team outside of London. Following the completion of an MA in Politics & Communications at The University of Liverpool he started his career at Channel 4 in 2006. Having joined Dentsu in 2012, he spent just over five years in the AV planning team working on clients such as Halfords, N Brown, Peoples Postcode Lottery and Pure Gym, before returning to Channel 4 in 2017.

Nick Richardson, Founder, The Insights Family

After a career in senior marketing and commercial B2B and B2C roles, Nick Richardson founded The Insights Family in 2016 which has a client base including: Amazon, BBC, Disney, LEGO, Paramount, Sky and Warner Bros. In 2017, he received a commendation by Pro Manchester and was a finalist in Venturefest North West. In 2021, the University of Bolton recognised him for his work in innovation and awarded him with an honorary Doctorate in Innovation.

Rachel Witkin, Marketing manager, Marketing Manchester

A proud Northerner, Rachel Witkin works as a marketing manager for Marketing Manchester, promoting the city and its vibrant offer to audiences nationally and internationally. She is passionate about arts and culture and has a wealth of experience working in the sector, with previous roles at the Science and Industry Museum, Manchester Arena (now AO Arena) and The Audience Agency.

Sherelle Fairweather, Digital strategy lead, Manchester City Council

As digital strategy lead at Manchester City Council, Sherelle is responsible for the implementation of the citywide ambitious digital strategy, which focuses on the relationship between technology and socioeconomics within a place. She has worked within the inequalities and social change space across the public and community sector for over 10 years now and currently serves as a proud board member for Manchester Animation Festival, Community Arts Northwest and Chair of Proper Job Theatre.

Sian Guest, Head of brand, DUSK.com

Sian Guest began her career at Asda house, where she spent seven years within a mix of corporate & trade marketing roles and later transitioned to senior marketing positions at Disney & online retailer Studio, amassing nearly 15 years of experience in retail and brand marketing. Now, as the head of brand at DUSK.COM, the UK’s fastest-growing affordable luxury homeware retailer, she is instrumental in shaping and driving the brand’s strategy and growth.

Stacey Anderson, Director of marketing, UA92

Stacey Anderson is director of marketing at University Academy 92 (UA92) and has been instrumental in defining UA92’s game-changing approach to higher education, laying the foundation for a disruptive brand within the education sector. Her journey into the world of higher education began at the age of 18, when she embarked on her career as a marketing apprentice, and since then has worked at a number of universities focusing on marketing and stakeholder engagement. She has a huge passion for making higher education accessible to all and has used this as a core focus as she has developed her career. 

Tom Salmon, Strategic advisor and consultant

Tom Salmon is a people-centric business leader, strategist and marketer who works with companies as an advisor and non-executive director. He was the managing director of the award-winning digital agency Epiphany from 2015–2020, a £12m turnover business employing 190 people in London, Leeds and Sydney. His team won Prolific North’s Large Integrated Agency of the year in 2018 and worked with clients including Savills, FirstDirect, Waterstones, Pets at Home, TKMaxx and Dixons Carphone.
