Mediaworks has trebled the size of its Leeds operation in under nine months after securing more than £6m in new account wins.

The agency, which has 115 staff at its HQ in Newcastle, has grown its Yorkshire office from four to 12.

New clients include the Medical Protection Society, Miele, Zalando, Cath Kidston and Alliance Pharma.

Mediaworks CEO Brett Jacobson said: “The team based in Leeds have achieved immediate success with some brilliant client wins and strong commercial growth.

“The quality of their brand strategy work and the additional value it’s allowed us to offer our existing clients through developing the Mediaworks service proposition has been phenomenal.”

Gill Ball, managing partner at Mediaworks Leeds, joined the company as part of this move. She was formerly managing partner at Brass, one of several former Brass senior employees who joined Mediaworks after the agency entered administration in December.

She said: “Joining Mediaworks has given us the platform for incredible growth during the last 12 months. Instead of the distraction of business administration, including setting up systems, new marketing channels and bookkeeping, we’ve been able to focus on what we do best: producing high-quality marketing programmes for our clients.”

Mediaworks hopes to double its headcount in Leeds to 25 over the next six months, and it also aiming to open an office in Manchester next year.
