Cheshire-based Matmi has worked with a 10-year-old on a new app for kids.
The app, DiaryZapp, is a space for children to capture daily adventures, broaden literacy skills and share creations every day over the holidays, weekends and beyond.
It was commissioned by the family (pictured above) of Noah Dance, 10, who came up with the idea of DiaryZapp after his eight-year-old sister was asked by her school to keep a diary.
He thought the task would be more fun if it could be done digitally – and now his interactive app has been made a reality.
Kids can write diary entries, draw pictures, add photos a share with friends and family – as long as mum and dad have approved it.
Here’s how the app works:
“When Jon and Charlie (Noah’s parents) first approached us, we loved their story and were genuinely surprised at the lack of quality apps for children,” said Nathan Broadbent, Matmi’s digital strategy director.
“It was interesting to understand more about the target audience and use our expertise to develop their idea from concept to product. DiaryZapp is certainly different to what’s already out there and I’m looking forward to seeing how children and families embrace it.”
