McCann backs BHF charity single produced by content designer

McCann Manchester is supporting a new single made by its content designer, Mike McGuinness.

McGuinness also happens to be DJ Lempo, a Grammy-shortlisted producer, who’s remixed artists such as Snoop Dogg and General Levy.

He produced and released the charity single for the British Heart Foundation, just months after having heart surgery himself. The emergency operation fixed a heart condition, which could have killed him within 6 months.

The track uses a sample of his own heartbeat recorded before and after the surgery.

“My operation cost the NHS more than £20,000. More importantly, the research that developed the technology was funded by charities such as the British Heart Foundation. The morbid reality is that 1 in 4 are not as lucky as me; heart disease can attack anyone of any age and fitness,” he said.

McCann has helped to produce the music video, which features user-generated content from employees and celebrities. The agency is also working to share and amplify the video through social channels.

Celebrities signed up for the video include Hollyoaks’s Ashley Taylor Dawson and Kieron Richardson, X-Factor winner Shayne Ward and Team GB athlete Samantha Murray.

The single will be available on all major download stores and streaming networks from 1st October.
