The former head of food PR at Asda has launched her own agency.

Vickie Rogerson has set up North PR and will focus on supporting, growing and celebrating food and drink businesses.

Based in Leeds but operating nationally, clients already signed up include Oddbox, London’s first and only wonky veg box scheme, London’s surplus food redistribution scheme City Harvest and the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company.

Over 20 years, Rogerson has worked with some of the UK’s biggest food and retail brands including seven years heading up the Asda Food & Wine PR team. She was instrumental in devising and launching Asda’s Wonky Veg brand with Jamie Oliver.

She also runs a successful cheese club, Homage2Fromage, in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Harrogate and is a judge at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards Nantwich.

Rogerson said: “I have launched North PR to help food and drink businesses grow and thrive in an increasingly challenging and competitive industry. A generalist, jack of all trades agency cannot offer a truly bespoke service based on over 20 years of food and retail experience.”

Deepak Ravindran, co-founder of Oddbox, added: “We worked with North PR to increase our awareness and support on PR for our crowdfunding campaign. Vickie went truly above and beyond what we agreed to ensure a very successful campaign. We have been recommending her to everyone in our network and will definitely work with her again.”
