International communications agency Manifest has opened its first office in Manchester.

Bec Chelin, previously Head of Client Services at scarlettabbott, has been appointed Managing Director of the Manchester office, which is in Churchgate House on Oxford Street.

Niamh Spence, previously of AmazeRealise, Wavemaker North and JD Sports, joins as Senior Account Manager.

The agency was founded in 2009 and has offices in London, New York and Stockholm. Clients include Virgin, Chivas Brothers and Young Planet.

Chelin said: “Our new UK opening is not about London showing Manchester how it’s done. There is a wealth of incredible talent in the city and we’re here to bring that multi-disciplinary creative expertise to our clients across the Manifest group.

“The north is also full of brands which aren’t simply just purpose driven – they’re activists for real change, which is why Manchester is the perfect new home for Manifest.

“Manchester is a home of diverse culture and a healthy disregard for the impossible. That culture is perfect for our way of working and something we want to soak up as much as possible.”
