Manchester’s Mi Hiepa to exhibit at China International Expo

Rezzil

Manchester-based start-up Mi Hiepa has been invited to showcase its elite football VR platform REZZIL Academy at the upcoming China International Import Expo in Shanghai.

REZZIL Academy is a football training platform that aims to identify and improve football talent and incorporates VR headsets with four trackers placed on the feet and shins.

The device collects  movement data points that help players with training and rehab. Clubs can also input match data so players can immerse themselves in real games.

Mi Hiepa hopes to use the the Expo to tap into China’s rapidly-growing football market.

“We received an invitation from the UK government to participate in the China International Import Expo,” said Adam Dickinson, MiHiepa’s development director.

“They saw us as a leading-edge innovative company and thought that we could really show what Britain is doing.

“If we to do it in real life, you need 25 people to do that one drill while you can do that without the impacts and repetition a thousand times so the benefit very accelerate.”

Sports Director Andy Etches added: “We think it is a great opportunity for us to reach out to the Chinese market and engage with the grassroot football movement (that) is beginning there. So obviously we can help develop players for the future of China.”

Matthew Rous, chief executive of China-Britain Business Council, said: “Some big names in British business will be there. Jaguar Land Rover, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, British Airways, have all taken exhibition space.

“And there will be a large UK national pavilion organised by the department for International Trade of the UK to provide opportunities to showcase British enterprise more generally.”
