Manchester United has announced a multi-year, global partnership with IT services company, DXC Technology.
As part of the deal, Manchester United will display DXC’s branding on all of its match day shirt sleeves, while DXC will serve as the club’s digital transformation partner, using its data and analytics expertise to improve the way United engages with fans through its digital platforms, including manutd.com and the Manchester United app.
DXC will also become the presenting partner of Manchester United Foundation. This partnership will focus on how technology can have a positive impact on people, the environment, and society, and seek to educate a new generation of STEM students, both through in-person and digital learning.
Manchester United CEO of alliances and partnerships, Victoria Timpson, said: “DXC’s technological expertise will help put Manchester United at the forefront of digital transformation, providing efficient ways of working and new and exciting opportunities to interact with fans.”
DXC Technology’s COO Chris Drumgoole added: “Manchester United and DXC are experts in managing world-class operations. We stand shoulder to shoulder in our belief in the power of technology to win.”
New York-listed, Virginia-headquartered DXC was created when Hewlett Packard spun off its enterprise services operations in April 2017. In June 2021 it had a global staff of around 98,000, about half of whom were based in Asia and Eastern Europe, and revenue of around $20bn.
