Manchester is the best city in the UK for freelancers, research by MoneySupermarket.com has found.
Over 1.4million Brits are now enjoying the flexibility and commute-free lifestyle of being a freelance worker.
And MoneySupermarket.com has created a ranking to compare different cities and how conducive they were for freelance work.
The price comparison website looked at everything from the cost of renting and number of coffee shops and wifi hotspots to the hourly rate freelancers could charge on average.
Brighton & Hove was ranked second, ahead of Edinburgh, Belfast and London, with the North further represented in sixth by Leeds.
Newcastle was ranked 10th with Bradford 13th, Liverpool 16th, Sunderland 17th and Sheffield 18th.
