Viral sensation, Jackie Weaver, is to appear in a new Channel 4 series, Make Me Prime Minister.

The Chief Officer of the Cheshire Association of Local Councils got global attention following a very heated Zoom meeting of Handforth Parish Council in December 2020.

Former Prime Ministers, Tony Blair and David Cameron, have also signed up to the series, where a number of candidates seek to prove they have what it takes to lead the nation.

She said that as PM, she “would make decisions that people don’t like” and that she believed that “national politics should not involve the rough and tumble that it currently does” and would like to focus funding away from central government and towards local government so that “changes you care about can be made.”

Blair and Cameron will offer “candid and personal advice” on what it takes to be Prime Minister, as well as offering feedback to the 12 “ordinary, yet opinionated” candidates.

Each week, they will be put through their paces in tasks designed to test their leadership skills, resilience, and integrity. These weekly group challenges will be set and adjudicated by Alastair Campbell and Baroness Sayeeda Warsi.

Make Me Prime Minister will air on Channel 4 later this year. The full line up will be revealed in due course.

The 6x60minute series is co-produced by Twofour and AOP, in co-production with Motion Content Group and comes from an idea devised by Matt Edmondson and Rees Howell.
