Nifty Football has partnered with agencies Silverchip and Sequence to build a new NFT football trading card game with cards designed by Manchester illustrator Stanley Chow.

The play-to-earn game, built on the Ethereum platform, features one-of-a-kind NFT cards with individual attributes affecting gameplay, designed by Chow. The first 1,000 cards have already been released and sold.

Software and app development company Silverchip is responsible for developing the back-end system alongside blockchain agency Sequence, which is working on the front-end UX design.

Nifty Football allows users to buy player NFT cards, collecting, trading and playing with friends, selling player cards as a unique NFT having trained them up. Squads of players can be viewed within the Nifty Football app or any compatible wallet.

Jamie McMullan, COO at Silverchip, said: “It’s a pleasure to be selected by Nifty Football to develop the back-end of this ground-breaking NFT trading card game alongside the brilliant team at Sequence.”

Ian Cox, CEO at Sequence, added: “[Being] able to partner up with Silverchip who are specialists in backend technology suits us perfectly. We actually met them playing five-a-side years ago and have watched them grow from strength to strength since.”

Andrew Ivison, CEO of Nifty Football, also said: “Nifty Football appeals to a players desire to not just buy, own, and trade, but to use these NFT’s to assemble teams and compete against other players. Each trading card is unique thanks to its DNA, via the minting and assigning of various traits per player.”
