Insurtech Ripe Thinking has announced two senior appointments as it passes the 300,000-customers milestone.
Joining Ripe’s team are Rob Styring as chief financial officer and Simon Trott as Chief Operating Officer.
Styring joins from Kingsbridge Group, where he was CFO, having formerly been a finance director in PIB Group, Thistle Insurance and Towergate. Trott was COO of legal specialists NAHL Group plc and previously held senior roles at RKH Group and Towergate.
The two need little introduction, having worked together leading Towergate Direct’s specialist retail division. With Trott as CEO and Styring as Finance Director, Towergate Direct grew to over 500,000 customers and achieved over £250m Gross Written Premium.
The appointments come as Ripe sees policyholder numbers exceed 300,000, reinforcing the Manchester-headquartered company’s position as one of the UK’s largest insurtech companies providing easy-to-access, reliable cover to leisure, lifestyle and SME customers.
The milestone marks a 50 per cent increase in customers in less than three years, reflecting the ability of Ripe to offer products and services to power the growth.
