Manchester celebrity health food haunt goes online only

Bosu Body Bar in Manchester has announced that it will close its high street operations and instead go online only.

The healthy fast-food store on Cross Street had attracted celebrities including the likes of Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Strictly Come Dancing’s Gorka Marquez.

However, after two years, it is focusing entirely on its nationwide chilled delivery service and expanding its online meal prep service.

“Over the past year it has made less and less sense to carry on meeting the economic demands of having a high street location when we could be serving those same customers better with an improved online delivery service and expanded range of healthy meal plan options,” explained Founder and Creative Director, Oli Drummond.

“And since the majority of our revenue has always come from our nationwide delivery service, dealing with challenges of operating a city centre centre location risked becoming a distraction to our long-term goal of being the UK’s leading healthy meal-prep delivery provider.”

He added that this had meant a complete overhaul of its website, to improve user experience expand its ecommerce functionality:

“We are excited to continue the growth of Bosu online. The Bosu restaurants have allowed us to get to know what our customers want, build up their trust in our product and gain a loyal following. We arrive at this point with a meal prep product we believe to be one of the best on the market.

“Focusing solely online will now allow us to pay more attention to our customers and develop our products further. In return this should result in greater customer satisfaction and increased retention rates.”

Drummond added that the new website will enable people to fully customise their meal plan, from the number of meals they get each day or week, to plans specifically developed for health and lifestyle choices.

“The main advance was to the overall functionality of the site to enable the customer to select each individual meal from the menu as many times as they like and build their own plan. This improvement was based on user feedback. Previously this wasn’t an option and customers would just get a mixed menu chosen by us,” he continued.
