Manchester Born and Red – Betfred campaign to mark Derby Weekend

Ahead of this weekend’s Manchester Derby, Betfred has nailed its colours to the mast – well billboards.

The North West brand is a sponsor of Manchester United – and boss, Fred Done, is famously a supporter of the Red side of the city.

So, this weekend, they’ve created an out of home campaign across the city, declaring “Manchester Born & Red” and “Manchester By Birth, Red by Choice.”

They will appear on city landmarks including Victoria Warehouse, the Salford Arch, Piccadilly Station and Hotel Football.

“From Denis Law’s iconic backheel to Wayne Rooney’s unforgettable bicycle kick, Betfred has been there every step of the way, witnessing the highs and the drama that have come to define the Manchester Derby,” said Betfred’s Head of Sponsorship, Steve Jones.

“This isn’t just a partnership – it’s a shared story, rooted deeply in the heart of Manchester.”

It’s been revealed that Sunday’s game at Old Trafford will be the final Derby for Manchester City legend, Kevin de Bruyne, who announced earlier today that he could be leaving City at the end of this season. For Mancunian soccer statisticians, he has the second number of assists in Premier League history – behind a certain Ryan Giggs.

Despite their lowly league position, United go into the fixture with one Manchester Derby win already under their belt this season. To do the double over their noisy neighbours, would be the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
