Liv Game Summit, a new creative tech and games event, is launching in Liverpool this June to “celebrate local talent” and address crucial industry challenges.
Launched by the Liverpool Game Dev Network, a networking initiative connecting the games industry in Liverpool and the North West, the Summit will be hosted at BoxPark Liverpool on 5 June for a day of talks, panels, games showcases, portfolio reviews, a charity raffle, and networking with industry peers and experts.
The lineup features a fireside chat hosted by Game Republic, delving into publishing a game in today’s industry and surviving the current industry challenges, one-to-one portfolio sessions, and a games showcase competition with five games hand-selected by a judging panel made up of local game studios that attendees will be encouraged to play and vote on.

The Summit already has the backing of a number of local businesses, including Digital Advisors, LCR Growth Platform, Skyhook, Lucid Games, games development studio Milky Tea, the GameChangers initiative, and more.
“I want the event to celebrate local business and upcoming-talent working on fantastic games, whilst also discussing the current industry climate, and ways to collectively navigate these tricky waters,” says Marek Smagala, founder of Liverpool Game Dev Network.
“It’s a day-long event that we’re dubbing a ‘vertical slice of the games industry across Liverpool and the North’. Liv Game Summit feels like the next natural step in the Network’s development, bringing an action-packed day of features that cover multiple areas of value for our fantastically varied cohort.”
Over the last two and a half years, Liverpool Game Dev Network has built up a community via its monthly meet-ups, networking events, and spotlight series across the wider Merseyside region with the aim of strengthening connections with local game studios and developers, and opening up avenues for local talent.
