Hollyoaks has dropped its big trailer for 2023, and it looks like things won’t be calming down in the Chester soap village as we enter a new year.
The trailer suggests blockbuster tragedy as Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) is declared dead in a crossbow rampage carried out by Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty), with veteran Tony (Nick Pickard) in tears after he says that his wife is dead, moments after we see Eric fire a bolt from his weapon.

It all comes as part of a “last stand” hostage drama, during which the incel takes numerous captives prisoner and declares his intentions to kill everyone he can, including himself.
Juliet Nightingale’s (Niamh Blackshaw) battle with cancer looks set to continue, while Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) looks set to learn that Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) shopped her killer son Bobby to the police.
