Lime Pictures has confirmed that its Bafta-winning series, The Only Way Is Essex, will return with 2 new series next year.
Every year since its launch in 2014, TOWIE has been ITVBe’s highest rated programme.
“We are so excited to bring The Only Way Is Essex back in 2023. TOWIE is truly an iconic British TV show, which has been embedded into viewers’ screens for over 30 series. We look forward to bringing more entertainment from the gossip and glamour capital of the UK next year,” said Rebecca Kenny-Smith, Creative Director: Current Programs at Lime Pictures.
The series was recommissioned by ITV’s Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions and Controller, ITV2, ITVBe & CITV; and Amanda Stavri, Commissioning Editor, Reality.
“After over 11 years, TOWIE is still going strong and remains the number one show on ITVBe. We’re thrilled to be welcoming back TOWIE in 2023, to continue to lift the lid on the lives of Essex’s most colourful characters,” said Mortimer.
