Jon-Paul Bell is joining the cast of Hollyoaks as newcomer Beau.
Bell is best known to viewers for playing Ben Chancellor, the villainous paralegal who was at the centre of a custody battle with Abi Webster (Sally Carman) in Coronation Street, earlier this year.
Bell trained at Arts Educational School in London, and was cast as Luke Mauro in Netflix’s BAFTA-nominated feature Kajaki The True Story straight out of the school. That role found him filming for three months in Jordan alongside an award-winning cast and the producers of the multi-Oscar-winning The Kings Speech. Other credits include Doctors and Emmerdale.
Bell has also recently finished filming in the new Steven Spielberg /Tom Hanks TV mini-series Masters Of The Air, for Apple TV, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga for Apple TV and co-starring Austin Butler, Callum Turner and Barry Keoghan.
We don’t know too much about Bell’s new character in Hollyoaks yet, but Bell suggests he’ll be bringing as much drama to the Cheshire village as he did to the cobbles of Coronation Street.
He said: “I can’t wait for viewers to meet Beau and follow him on his exciting new journey into the village where he is sure to cause a stir for various well-known characters along the way.”
