Another axed BBC Radio Merseyside star is returning to the airwaves at local indie challenger Liverpool Live Radio.
Linda McDermott joins former BBC Merseyside colleagues Roger Lyon at the four-year-old station, returning to the airwaves, just over one year since her BBC show was axed as part of the BBC’s reorganisation of its local radio schedules.
Linda McDermott’s much loved radio programme Under the Duvet Club will be transplanted from BBC Radio Merseyside to Liverpool Live Radio, starting this Sunday, much to the delight of her fans.
Announcing the news on social media, Liverpool Live Radio said: “‘STOP THE PRESS’ It is a new show alert! Linda McDermott joins the team at Liverpool Live with her legendary “Under the duvet club”! Starting this Sunday night 10pm – 1am, Only on Liverpool Live Radio’”
Several fans took to social media to express delight at the news, with one Facebooker, Stephen Dunne from Liverpool, suggesting the broadcaster could have a ratings behemoth on its hands: “This makes sense, people from around the world listened to her, listening figures will go through the roof,” he predicted.
