Leeds agency takes on BrewDog’s consumer PR

Britain’s biggest craft brewer, BrewDog, has appointed Leeds integrated marketing agency, ilk, to spearhead its consumer PR activity in the UK.

Building on a longstanding 15-year creative relationship between ilk and BrewDog, the agency’s PR team will now deliver all consumer PR activity in the UK, driving customers to bars and encouraging retail sales both on- and offline.

After winning a competitive pitch process, ilk impressed by securing over 150 pieces of press coverage during the first three months. Following this success, the agency is now working with BrewDog on a retained basis.

ilk’s work has already driven coverage for key campaigns around Euro 2024, the UK General Election and a Marvel Studios brand collaboration, alongside ongoing activity in support of ecommerce and in-bar launches and promotions.

Nev Ridley, managing director of ilk Agency, said: “Our team is thoroughly enjoying getting to grips with BrewDog’s UK consumer PR, building on previous creative work over the years. We’re incredibly pleased with the results secured thus far across some really exciting campaigns, and we know there’s plenty more to come across this year and beyond. What’s more, our beer fridge has never been fuller!”

Sarah Warman, director of corporate communications at BrewDog, added: “We’re thrilled with ilk’s work so far, helping to deliver our consumer PR efforts in the UK and achieving some great results in the process. ilk has been a key creative partner of BrewDog for over a decade, and their experience and understanding of our brand translates seamlessly through to PR. They have extensive drinks industry experience, which lends itself well to where we are in terms of media positioning, but they’re also hungry for new creative opportunities, which we’re very keen to satisfy with some exciting upcoming briefs! We’re looking forward to seeing how their contribution helps build the UK’s biggest craft beer business, taking our amazing beer to more people, too.”
