Edge Testing Solutions, one of the UK’s largest independent software testing companies, has appointed Julian Lawless to spearhead its growth across Yorkshire.
Lawless takes on the role of service delivery manager and will manage client relationships in Bradford and Leeds, and will also oversee securing contracts with new clients.
The news follows the appointment of Kelly White to lead growth at the company – part of Eurofins Digital Testing – across Cheshire, Manchester and Lancashire.
Lawless, who has 20 years of senior management and test services experience, said: “The traditional testing role is diminishing and clients expect software testers to have a wider knowledge and deeper technical knowledge as well as business acumen.
“That’s why we are investing in our UK workforce significantly, and sourcing experienced and committed team members for the region, as well as identifying candidates with no testing experience, but a passion for technology and a willingness to learn.”
The company is exploring co-operation with local universities to replicate success with Scottish universities such as the University of Strathclyde, the University of the West of Scotland in Paisley, Stirling University and New College Lanarkshire.
Rob Maxfield, new business director at Edge, added: “Together with Eurofins, we can provide clients with a far more comprehensive offering, incorporating both Eurofins’ and Edge’s testing services, to provide them with a regional resource to ensure that high quality software is developed to underpin their clients’ growth.”
