Rosie Swarbrick, a sports reporter for JPI Media’s Lancashire Post and The Gazette in Blackpool, is moving to the Express & Star.
It comes after an unusually busy summer of transfers in the sports reporting world.
That’s following a host of big name signings for North American subscription service, The Athletic.
Swarbrick will be joining the Wolverhampton-based title to cover Wolves, alongside Joe Edwards. He stepped up to the role, following Tim Spiers’ move to The Athletic last week.
“It is an honour to get the opportunity to cover this historic club,” she said on Twitter. “I cannot wait to get started.”
The former Fleetwood Town reporter also paid tribute to her colleagues:
“I have too many people at the Post, Gazette, Fleetwood Town, Chorley, PNE and all the clubs I have covered during my six year spell to thank in one post.
“But I am so grateful to all who have helped me in my career to date I will miss you all, but I am relishing the opportunity to test myself in the Premier League.”
She will take up the role next week.
