LA Productions has appointed former scriptwriter, Sarah Deane, as its new Head of Scripted.
Deane originally worked on the first two series of LA Productions’ BBC drama, Moving On, before joining the operation permanently in 2016.
More recently she was Lead Writer and Show Runner on the Liverpool indie’s 10-part prison drama, Clink.
“We’ve had a fantastic year, with three RTS-nominated drama series (Moving On 10, Clink and Pitching In) and a multi-award-winning single drama, CARE, which has just triumphed in the Best TV Movie category at the coveted Prix Europa European Media Festival in Berlin. We intend to capitalise on this positive momentum as we head towards 2020, and hit the ground running with an exciting slate of bold projects,” explained Owner and Executive Producer, Colin McKeown MBE.
“As Head of Scripted, Sarah will oversee LA’s development slate. She will also work directly with writers through the whole script development process, from concept to commission, whilst retaining her present script editing duties on current productions. Continuity is key for us and, by creating this new post, we’ll be able to operate with maximum efficiency and creativity, and capitalise on the fantastic relationships Sarah has already built within the industry.”
Deane will work with Development Assistant, Tom Kinney.
