Yorkshire filmmakers Scott Elliott and Sid Sadowskyj have unveiled the official trailer for A Playground Like No Other, the film at the heart of Project Yorkshire, narrated by BAFTA-winner Sean Bean.
The Project Yorkshire campaign aims to promote Yorkshire as a destination for tourists, students and investors worldwide following the pandemic. It sees the duo behind the 2018 cult hit Scott and Sid shoot at numerous locations across Yorkshire including cityscapes, popular tourist spots and local businesses, highlighting some of the county’s attractions and the reasons why many people are drawn to the region.
Sadowskyj said: “We wanted to create more than just another tourism advert or business investment video, so we contacted some of our associates in the industry, including Hollywood composers, storytellers and writers to collaborate with us. We put our heads together and, in and came up with a concept for a whole campaign centred around the film we are confident will really put Yorkshire on the map globally.”
On the subject of bringing professional Yorkshireman Bean to the project, Sadowskyj added: “Sean was our first choice for narrator. Being a Yorkshireman himself with an iconic accent, not to mention his role as King of the North in Game of Thrones, there was just no one better for the job.”
Following the film’s launch this summer, a second stage of the campaign will see the filmmakers create a bank of marketing assets including images, clips and artwork that could be used in digital and printed marketing materials, across social media channels and on TV and radio.
