ITV has commissioned a new six-part drama from Red Production Company that stars Keeley Hawes as a woman whose life is turned upside down by the sudden death of her husband.
Finding Alice (6 x 60’) focuses upon Alice’s honest, raw, blackly comic journey of grief, love and life after her husband Harry is killed when falling down the stairs at the couple’s newly finished dream house.
His death kicks up a storm of secrets and mess, debt, suspicion and criminality which Alice is forced to confront in order to survive.
Written by Roger Goldby (The Durrells, The Musketeers, Call The Midwife as Director) and Simon Nye (The Durrells, Tommy Cooper: Not Like That Like This, How Do You Want Me?), Finding Alice is produced by Manchester-based Red Production Company in association with Bright Pictures TV, Buddy Club Productions and Genial Productions
ITV’s Head of Drama Polly Hill, who commissioned the six-parter, said: “This is a brilliant script – emotionally truthful and darkly funny. It’s about family and grief and introduces us to the wonderfully original character of Alice.
