Keane joins Sky and makes fiery debut

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has joined Sky Sports as a pundit for the rest of the Premier League season.

The fiery Irishman made his debut on Super Sunday yesterday and delivered a damning verdict on United’s 2-0 defeat by West Ham.

“I don’t know where to start,” he said. “I was shocked and saddened by how bad they were.

“They were lacklustre, no quality, lack of desire, lack of leaders, lack of characters. It’s a long way back for United but scary how far they’ve fallen.”

Keane, who was previously a regular on ITV’s football coverage, will now work alongside the likes of Graeme Souness, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Jose Mourinho.

“I’ve worked with Sky Sports quite a few times over the years and it’s always been an experience I’ve enjoyed, so this makes absolute sense,” the former United skipper explained.

“While I’m not coaching I still want to be involved in the game and in some ways, this is the next best thing. It’s a game of opinions, I’ve never shied away from giving mine and that’s only going to continue this season.

“Sky Sports has always been famous for the heated debates – I look forward to starting a few more.”

Neville later added: “There’s some Premier League titles in that studio – and Jamie Carragher.”
