JPIMedia, the regional news publisher previously known as Johnston Press, is set to rebrand to National World Publishing Limited.
Having been acquired by National World plc in January 2021, from April 29th the publisher of the Yorkshire Post will be rebranded under the umbrella of its parent company, as will its subsidiaries.
In a release it said: “The company no longer feels that the JPIMedia name reflects the business, its ambitions or its expanded portfolio across the group and is, instead, reflective of news brands to which the company no longer has links.”
The move to the new branding will include the launch of a new National World website and commercial site, Connect Local, it announced.
JPIMedia also operates The Scotsman, Lancashire Evening Post, Sheffield Star, and The News Letter in Belfast. National World, led by industry veteran David Montgomery, acquired the publisher for £10.2 million last year.
NationalWorld.com, launched in March 2021, became the media group’s highest-performing digital brand, hitting 19.3 million page views last month.
