Jack Mason steps down as Inc&Co CEO

Jack Mason has announced that he’s resigned as the CEO of Inc& Co, the company he co-founded five years ago.

It’s been five years of growth, but also controversy for Mason, who set up Inc&Co with Tech Director, Dave Antrobus in 2019.

At the time, he told Prolific North that he’d “learnt many hard lessons” from his previous company, Dreamr, which was in a Company Voluntary Arrangement.

Within 12 months he’d led Inc&Co to a £10m turnover, with high profile acquisitions including Skylab, Brass and Insights Analysis.

The group’s since diversified further into law, retail and more.

He wrote on Linkedin:

“After 5 years, I’ve made the decision to step down as Group CEO and to leave Inc & Co, the company I had the privilege to co-found.

“Building and leading Inc&Co has been one of the most rewarding, but also the most challenging experiences of my life. From the early days of inception to seeing it grow into a diverse Group of businesses, I’ve been continually inspired by the passion and dedication of our people.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life, whatever that may bring. Right now, i’m having a long rest until the time is right to explore new opportunities and ventures.

“Thank you to all my team for their trust, support, and friendship over the years. And also a big thanks to all my LinkedIn supporters.

“Here’s to new beginnings.”

In July, a judge found that Mason and Antrobus had committed contempt of court by breaching freezing orders that had been imposed on them, while a civil fraud case brought by Barclays against them was pending.

They both claimed that an asset transfer was done without their knowledge or consent.

However, the judge said during the case:

“I can be sure, and am sure, that Mr Mason’s various explanations about this alleged transfer of shares were deliberate falsehoods.”

Mason, Antrobus and business associate Scott Dylan are due to be sentenced in October, with Barcelona-based Mason having had to surrender his passport. Mason and Antrobus both denied the contempt, while Dylan accepted contempt of court regarding 2 of the 4 charges against him.

The civil fraud case is due to be heard next year.
