ITVX marks Disability History Month with short films

ITV is giving debuts to 2 regional producers and directors in its Disability History Month series of programming.

The shorts will be available to stream on ITVX and through ITV’s YouTube Channel, with Molly Dennis, Richard Walker, and Stephanie Symington-Kurth making their producer/director debuts for ITV.

Richard Walker is behind Unfiltered Women, a new chat show featuring 3 outspoken disabled women. Samantha Renke, Fats Timbo and Jay Howard say whatever they want about living in a disabling world.

Walker, who’s a DV Director based in Manchester produces and directs the programme.

Date My Nan from Stephanie Symington-Kurth follows disabled make up artists as they glam up a Nan and send them on a Blind date.

Symington-Kurt graduated with a first-class degree in Media and Communications from Glasgow Caledonian University and has since been working freelance on shows including Dragons’ Den and Food Unwrapped.

Like Unfiltered Women, it was made for ITV Fresh Cuts, which is funded through ITV’s £80m Diversity Commissioning Fund, which launched in 2022.
