ITV says it will continue to monitor All3Media, but is “no longer actively exploring” the possible acquisition.
In a statement this morning it added:
“ITV plc assesses all potential value-creating M&A opportunities against its strict financial criteria and disciplined capital allocation framework.”
All3Media has a global roster of 50 production companies, including Liverpool’s Lime Pictures and Wise Owl Films in Leeds. Jointly owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and Liberty Global, the deal was thought to be worth in the region of $1bn.
It produces formats including The Traitors, Gogglebox, Call The Midwife and films such as 1917.
Any move by ITV would have also added around 30,000 hours of archive content from All3Media’s distribution catalogue.
