ITV has confirmed its plans for broadcast of the Queen’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey next Monday, September 19.
The event will be the largest outside broadcast in ITV’s history, and will be shown live and uninterrupted on ITV’s main channel and simultaneously on all of its digital channels and streaming service ITV Hub – the first time ITV has ever handed every available resource to a single broadcast..
The coverage will be preceded by Good Morning Britain which will present a preview of the funeral.
Moving into the evening, following the live funeral coverage ITV will broadcast a documentary film chronicling the events of the previous 10 days from Her Majesty The Queen’s death to the state funeral.
There will be a special programme focussing on the day’s events at 2100 followed by an extended News at Ten.
All of the day’s programming between 6am and midnight will be simulcast across ITV’s main channel, its five digital channels and the ITV Hub.
As previously announced, there will be no ad breaks during any of ITV’s royal coverage or commentary. Consequently there will be no advertising on any ITV channel on Monday, September 19. Presenter details will be announced closer to the event.
