A new series of BBC’s Inside Out returns next week, hosted by Dianne Oxberry in the North West and Paul Hudson in Yorkshire.
“Inside Out is a brilliant current affairs programme, unafraid to push boundaries and tackle controversial subjects. But it is rooted in England’s different and diverse regions and reflects the cares and concerns of our audiences in each region,” explained David Holdsworth, controller of BBC English Regions.
“People are at the heart of the stories we tell and we seek to tell them in a way that is compassionate and compelling. Over the next nine weeks, viewers will be informed and at times amazed and angered by the stories we cover.”
In Yorkshire there will be a programme on a Kurdish father, based in Keighley who makes a regular return home to fight the so-called Islamic State. BBC North East and Cumbria will air an investigation into a company that employed former British soldiers, who were arrested for weapons offences in India.
There will also be films made by former Sunderland MP Chris Mullin and Gateshead woman Jo Milne, who was born deaf and is now registered blind and can now hear again.
All the English regions will come together on 21st September for a housing crisis special.
Inside Out will begin on 7th September at 7.30pm before going on the iPlayer.
